Maybe it's just me but I don't see a diff between this and what we got. Looks like the same bad effects and bad fight scenes.

You're right, no difference at all. The new ones look like they took the action from the Japanese version and placed it in the American version to support the story line.

That's exactly what happened.
However the inbetween passages were changed... also there was blood in the japanese version... if that were in the clip then it would be good to illustrate the difference.

1. they had a shit load more red rangers than we did
2. we never got a rainbow ranger guy
3. our rangers or our villains had that little dragonball energy ball thing going
