Why do you attack someone who is trying to protect your great grandchildren?

He is trying to make fucking awareness that what we are doing, is slowly killing us off. Sure the world will recover and go back to normal but, once we are gone...WE ARE GONE.

nick20404: the same could be said for all of the people who believe what Gore is saying, and that this is a hologram. Looks like a video screen to me. If he can't be trusted for that, should we not go into the facts of what he is calling a "crisis"?

pieszbob1: If these politicians really cared about our grandchilden, then why isn't government spending kept to a reasonable level. It's to the point where they(grandkids) are being left with the resposiblilty of paying for governments poor choices.

Everyone should watch "The Great Global Warming Swindle" before making an "informed" decision based only on what Big Al Gore tells you is the truth.

Yeah you are right Nick, in fact there has been many people on this site who post just to say something negative to others and just stir the pot because they like the attention it brings them or something. Ninj4 was a perfect example of this, and Guaii.

Eventually people will wake up and there will be less and less of the undesirable attitudes. The biggest issue with this is it comes from home. For example; a father who is abusive to his son, or wife, will have a son, who is abusive to his son or wife. It's a recurring cycle. Monkey see monkey do. So because a lot of young kids have friends that are ignorant, arrogant, condescending, and inconsiderate, and they think it is cool to act like that and thus they copy their attitudes and it creates more of that idiotic way of thinking.

It doesn't bother me now as I don't have to tolerate such insular minded people, but eventually this way to live will pass like a bad phase, and this will improve life drastically.

I could go on talking about this and what possible solutions can be used to combat this problem but it would be a waste of time simply because what I say here will be of little consequence. The place that changes need to occur is not just on a global scale but in the governments, and schools and places of consequence that have the means to influence people in the right way to siphon out the ugly so to speak.

As for the hologram of Al Gore, I must say I was quite impressed with the quality. It's done with air vapors or something similar I saw in another video here on spiked, but it was kind of wavy and distorted, this actually looked really good. :)

Al Gore is well educated, and intelligent. Makes me wonder how things would be if he had have been elected president instead of Bush.

Wow uhh, so he used a hologram to save jet fuel?

Ok, let's look at this for a second. The technology, equipment and money had to come from somewhere. The equipment alone; being created and transported probably would have used up much more energy and done more damage to the environment then one jet flight. Don't even get me started on the Live Earth concert itself.

Hell, jet flights go to Japan every day ANYWAYS. So why wouldn't he just pay the money and support the damn economy to take the flight when it's going already?

I understand the 'idea' he's trying to get across, but honestly, there would probably have been better ways. This one just seems the most 'environmentally friendly' because it's so cool, and bashes the idea of CO2 emissions.

Everything comes from somewhere, and usually that somewhere HAS in some way to do with carbon emitting things, it's inevitable!

If Al really wants to put a halt or slow down carbon emissions, he may as well plug all the volcanoes on earth, or eliminate all clouds. Seeming as THEY are the largest CO2 producers.

Don't get me wrong, I support a 'greener' and healthier earth, but honestly.. this is turning into more of a fad then it is an important movement.

@D33man: Well Al Gore was also in New York for the Live Earth Concert, so it was more efficient to use this holographic method as well, so he could be in two places at once. ;)

It's a 2-d hologram... it is not an actual hologram. My fiance's grandparents have a patent on a similar technology, basically a clear screen that is back projected, the image is then "unscewed" to fix the angle problem... when it is dark you can't see the screen so all you see is the projected image.

Same method used for the Gorillaz Concerts.
