I think i got the answer.

Glass is strong but when it's thick thats why the guy in the video was using the thick part of the cup.

like have you ever heard a ball made of glass will bounce.

it's all about ware the force goes.

So thats my theory

^I hope you are joking about the m theory bit. As for the actual physics part I do think you are right. The impulse was very quick and bricks don't handle large forces for short periods of time very well where as glass does. However, bricks handle forces over long periods of time much better than glass.

Haha most of you are moron.
First off, that is NOT a normal brick as in the type you build with, it's fire-brick. Fire-Brick has a significantly lower density and as a byproduct, it is lighter and weaker. The reduced density is for insulating heat, hence the name. You can hear the difference when hes handling it too, it has a high reverberation, even to slight vibrations (aka, the slip of his hand). Try doing that with a *normal* you still might be able to chip it but, that glass WILL break.
