I can't believe there are people who think obesity isn't a problem. Granted the BMI scale is a little off but when you got flabs of fat hanging over your penis/vagina then you have a weight problem and no way you try to spin it you won't be as healthy as a thinner person.

Who is Penn to give a speech on obesity and how fat people should just stop eating? Has he ever looked in a mirror? I know the camera adds ten pounds... But that's about it.

Although, I do agree with the sentiments, he should take his own advice.

Granted, I haven't seen the second part of this episode but so far it seems to me that they're not saying that being fat is great or that it isn't a potential problem sometimes. Rather they seem to be challenging the notion that it's some "epidemic" the way the media scare-tactics would have us believe. I think you can still acknowledge the problems with obesity without buying into the hysteria.

Their points aren't always so clear, though. I like their shows because they tip many of society's sacred cows. Their episode showing why circumcision is Bullshit has helped me convince a few parents-to-be why they should keep their boys intact. But I always feel like they make a few too many jokes while they could be including just a bit more substantive info. Not that they need to be a Noam Chomsky or Bill Moyers documentary, I just wish the jokes were more of a seasoning than main ingredient.

That being said, keep the Penn & Teller coming (and again, let's see that episode on why circumcision is bullshit!).

^It means something to me in a country that forces us to deal with insurance companies. Fat people make everyones premiums go up because they cost more to insure, so we all have to pay.
