^ No, The limit means that x will never become 8, but infinitesimally close to it, meaning 7.9999999999 barred, or 8.00000000(barred)1, Which makes it 1/.00000000(barred)1, or 1/-.000000000(barred)1

The answer is actually both Infinity(from the left) and negative infinity(from the right) since it did not specify from which side it wanted us to find the limit.
