5/5 for good music and for the fact you recorded the best fireworks in michigan and did a good job on recording it, i watched these on tv, sadly i didnt have the gas to get to detroit, nice job

Thanks alot :-) I did the video with my Canon PowerShot A610, so it's not the best it could've been. I made a DVD with the video though and it looks great!

All that being said though, it's never the same watching it like this after you've been there...I watch from that same spot every year and this video (or any for that matter) doesn't really give the show credit it deserves because being there and feeling it is what it's all about.

i havent been there, ive lived downriver all my life and ive never been to the detroit fireworks, ive watched them on tv tho every since i was a lil one. but yes still caught it very well, got all 3 barges in there

Good to see a recording. I was absolutely trashed on Belle Isle during the display and watched them from a pretty good view, but honestly can't remember much. Thanks for allowing me to 'relive' the experience.

I live in Windsor. funny to see these on a site i frequently visit.
Honestly, even though its the "Biggest display" of fireworks in North America, everyone in Windsor that i know finds them boring now. I've spent the 4th of July on the east coast (Boston) and west coast (Seattle) and seen both the firework shows there. they are MUCH more impressive than this one. Maybe because im so used to these ones? Boston's was spectacular, though much shorter.
(sorry for being so negative, but its probably because the show on TV has horrible music, and the only time i've seen it in person was a bad year for it)

To the photographer:
The way you captured these fireworks was excellent. They made the fireworks seem MUCH better, and the songs were great.

im still giving this a 5/5. Good job Gagnier. Judging from the lack of sky-line across the river, you were in Detriot. Anyone get shot this year???

Your Grandma must live in the apartments by the casino, I'm guessing. Looking at this video makes me realize that I've been watching the fireworks for years at the wrong angle. This is a much better vantage.

@L3b3rt - Thanks for the compliments, to answer your question though I'm also from Windsor...and I didn't watch the news that night, so I don't think anyone got shot this year, lol. That was crazy last year (?) with that whole Hart Plaza ordeal...some people I tell ya...

@antisemantic - Yeah, she does...but I'm obviously not going to advertise which ones, lol. Good eye though for noticing :-)

Windsor Fireworks are the best fireworks in the nation in my opinion, but what makes it funny is that they are launched in Canada! Great upload though, I've only been to the Windsor Fireworks once, and the grand finale was like beating a Mega Man character in real life! Like strobe lights and loud noises everywhere, at least that is what I remember from when I was like 10 years old (I'm 24 now). Good times, good times....

But in my opinion, the greatest fireworks display I have ever seen was in Rome, when Italy won the World cup in 06'. That show was amazing and lasted almost an hour. I was there, and I remember, it was awesome...
