I enjoyed all three books, but that was long time ago

i should read the first one again before i see the movie.
or at least the first few chapters, so that i refresh my memory on the whole world in which it takes place, there's no way they can explain everything in the movie

Nothing will ever be as good as LotR -_- This movie could have potential... although I haven't read the books in like 6 years, I remember that they were good.

Wow, the bears look even more impressive than I had imagined them to be!
Visually this already looks like a masterpiece and part 2 and 3 should be even crazier, what with the angels and the land of the dead and all.

Really looking forward to this.

Looks pretty Narnia to me. I'm not yelling plagiarism, but the style of filming and the way it's aimed at kids it sounds like Narnia. It better not be like Narnia. Narnia sucked ass. I regret seeing it.

i read the books. and was a MASSIVE fan of them. but the film doesnt look like it does them justice at all. WHY on earth was everything looking otherworldly and futuristic? otherwordly yeah.. but why wierd.. readers of the books tell me if i'm wrong but i always imagined lyra's world being like ours was in the late 19 hundreds with subtle differences. it looks alright. but. it does look narnia like. which is stupid. sorry for the rant lol. i jus love the books alot haha.

Well, I guess they are really trying to capture the feel of really being in a parallel universe. I think it looks good. And I highly doubt it will end up like Narnia. Which, I agree, is a major disappointment.

I agree with when_darkness_falls, the world i pictured it to be was not portrayed as futuristic but 19th century and not as clean as the world they have made.
