I'm a christian and it bothers me about wat there talking bout. now i aint no religious freak but come on!!! stop talking bout how jesus was not the son of god and shit like that. Why don't u talk bout Budda or the Muslim religion?

^ because they are in America, and the predominant cult in America is Christianity. As a fellow anti-theist it is our belief that all cults must be abolished. That's OUR belief, and if you think we have to respect your beliefs then why don't you respect ours?

We want you to get mad, but you're not angry at us, you're angry that you have been brainwashed from birth...which is the only reason religion still exists in this day and age. Like any addiction, the first step towards being healed is getting shocked into admitting you have a problem.

But you just go ahead and keep looking through your dinner plate for the holy spaghetti spirit.

Religion has done far more harm than good. When religion does something "good" it is usually due to cleaning up some mess the human race caused, with the exception of natural disasters.

And wars? Endless wars, blood shed and death in the name of god.

If there is one god, then why so many religions?
If god is almighty, then why does it allow child porn, beheadings, animal cruelty, rape, torture etc.etc?
If you were conquered by Romans prior to their "turn" to Christianity, you would believe in MANY gods right now.

Religion is for the weak of mind.
You DON'T NEED RELIGION TO BELIEVE IN A GOD(s)

I don't think religion is that completely bad, I don't think it's great either. Luckily, we have a new generation of iPod users and videogamers who are so easily bored with the notion of salvation, that it won't affect their critical thinking skills.

the reason shows like this go for religious subject matter such as this is because it is sensational and stirs people up. it is a quest for ratings after all. judging from your response, it has worked.

the reason they go for christian and catholic doctrines is because of the masses of people publicly flaunting the faith in unorthodox ways. virgin mary's in cheese sandwiches? then making a hefty profit from ebay, interviews, photoshoots?

if it really were the virgin mary or jesus, s/he wouldn't have appeared for somebody's financial gain. that is secular. that is worldly. that is unchristian no?

i dont mind people filling their inner void with religion, better than alcohol or gambling. religion gives much solace to people with not much else. but do not blame the media, blame the simple minded people who draw negative attention to your religion; who then get angry for speculation and scrutiny over their beliefs.

As a Catholic I think its funny how people think I'm in a cult, and how Jesus's Idea's were insane. if you take a look of he views on the world how corrupt people are (and don't tell me there isn't corrupt people out there) and how greed for money, he sort of makes sense about everthing in life. All the 7 Deadly sins

1 Lust (Latin, luxuria)
2 Gluttony (Latin, gula)
3 Greed (Latin, avaritia)
4 Sloth (Latin, acedia)
5 Wrath (Latin, ira)
6 Envy (Latin, invidia)
7 Pride (Latin, superbia)

And don't forget The Ten commandments
1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
3. Remember thou keep the Sabbath Day.
4. Honor thy Father and thy Mother.
5. Thou shalt not kill.
6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
7. Thou shalt not steal.
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors's wife.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors's goods.

basically what I'm Trying to add here is if most people followed 4-10 be a pretty cool place to live in. But heres where Reality Slips in, You were born in a Different country, check, Your beliefs weren't Christianity, check again, you just don't believe in anything higher than you , God .... or god to you Non Believers, and thats ok too.

what I'm trying to say is this, Sure Religion to most people sounds like Brain washing, but its not, to me its gives me purpose in life, in knowing that I will be somewhere when I die, and when i do and i don't go to heaven or Hell, ill say it was for family, love, and respect for the world... just my Opinion (might get neg votes O well)

now if you excuse me like Jonas22 said "holy spaghetti spirit" I call them Spaghetti O's Biacth!!! ;)

I'm not even going to get started. An example would be a catholic church near where I live in Australia charges people $5 to park their cars on the church's land.

^ well in America its Free Parking, soo its different everywhere, Lol god doesn't pay for the church Electricity in Australia I guess, thats why there's 2 offerings in Church > Poor gets $, and then for the Church < Church gotta pay the bills too.
