Rihanna Rips Off Orgy's Song "Blue Monda...

I heard Rihanna's new song "Shut up and drive" on the radio and I IMMEDIATELY noticed she stole the beat from Orgy's song "Blue Monday"! Now I'm not the best at editing sound but, you get the idea that it's the same beat and guitar riff as Orgy's.

@Scrmslikegirl, I just listened to the Blue Monday song by New Order and my god did it suck. The song, Blue Monday sounds better performed by Orgy in my opinion.

hip hop and r&b are almost solely reliant on sampling, break beats and lyrical/cultural references. it's just a matter of finding the original source.

I don't know if you have noticed but lately there have been a lot of rap and/or r&b songs that have "older rock" similarities whether they "stole" them or if they actually bought them. for instance like that Nas song about something like "If Hip Hop should die before I wake" or something like that, it has the same beat, I mean identical, to the Inna Godda Da Vida song.

There are more just like it.

New Order have some good tracks - I've got a few of their albums. But there's no question that the Orgy cover of Blue Monday is superior to New Order's original.

And, the two tracks are a little too similar for my tastes.
