One is that there are a lot of rap haters no matter how good the rap is. The other is probably due to success, when there is success the haters seem to get more vocal.

Believe it or not, there are actual reasons to why some people dislike rap. The biggest reason is that the instrumentals is well... lacking. If you listen to the instruments they all consist of a short 3-7 note riff repeated over and over and over and over and over. Seriously, you could learn how to play that in minutes with no previous musical experience. All those rappers thrive on their singing skills, which I guess some people find appealing.

Linkin Park have some pretty creative music videos.

Of course, as a nu metal band their creative output has nothing on the likes of Judas Priest, Megadeth, Metallica, or Slayer.

That was a bit mean, Slayer shouldn't be lumped together with the asinine crap that is the other 3.
