Bullitt Chase Scene

The classic car chase between a 1968 Mustang GT and a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T that set the bar for all car chase scenes to be measured. Steve McQueen actually did most of the driving and the speeds reached in excess of 110 mph.

This is where the Mustang Legacy all began. A great and important piece of history. I remember reading something about how the Charger's suspension kept falling apart during the jump scenes, while the good old fastback held together nicely for all takes. Awesome upload, 5/5.

There's also a saying that the Charger loses 5 hubcaps, but I only counted four. I could have missed it, did anyone see it?

I uploaded this because I am a classic car enthusiast and my dad showed this to me many years ago to my liking. I have a 1969 Firebird Convertible and like that a 1968 Firebird is seen many times on the San Fran streets. Check out my Firebird:

There are many stories behind this, but it is true that the Charger does lose 5 hubcaps. They are lost at 2:01, 2:20(You have to look close as the hubcap stays beside the car until the plateau), 2:40 and the two that come off at the gas station at 6:58.

I think the Ronin car chase is better, though this is more of a classic.

See, you dont have to flip a Carrera GT to make a cool scene, just actually drive it for a while, theres too much smoke and mirrors in modern stuff if you ask me.

This puts the modern car chases to shame. Also, check out the original Gone in 60 Seconds car chase. It's literally half the movie.
Great upload Maddux, but your picture link doesn't seem to be working.

There isnt much better than this chase. There are alot of good car chases, but they just don't have the same feel as this one.

No CGI, no nothing. Perfect!

The car chase in ronin was purposely made with no cgi wasn't it? there've been a few movies in the past decade or so to make amazing chases with as much realism as possible to get the same feel as this one. This was a great chase yes, and a classic. But that alone doesn't make it the best. I think the ronin one was kick ass. I mean you've got dinero with a bazooka kicking ass. If he were driving a 69' Camero it would've been the greatest scene ever lol.
