Trailer from Micheal Moore's Health care documentary SiCKO. Great documentary showing the corrupted health care system. In theaters June 29th. But I kinda doubt it will be released in the US.

the point is it shouldn't be a corporate decision, it should just be something every citizen has. I'm fucking sick and tired of the medical system, I've been through my own nightmare with it despite my monthly allowance towards it.

ironically, for this video i had the ad with the elephant and the zoo keeper where he is sick and the elephant takes care of him, of course i thought it was actually the trailer until i realized it was a Mastercard ad.

A pure free market cannot cater for all citizens such as health care as we see in 'sicko', this is where government intervention is neccasary.

Horsecrap. Government is not there to feed you, clothe you, or pay for your bills. It's there to keep criminals from hurting you or other countries invading. That's it. It's pathetic how many people think that the government owes them a tit to suck on, and even worse that the same government encourages it. Just remember, with every bit of responsibility you give to the government, you give more power to them as well.

anyone who wants this film now should pay a visit to the pirate bay.

I have seen it already, and it does have a very powerful message,

which is if other countries can provide free healthcare for their citizens, even if it does come at the cost of increased taxes, then it should be possible for the US to follow their example. The reason why it is not being done is because healthcare lobbyists pay off congressmen and women to ensure no universal healthcare bill is put forward, but thats just one part of a very multifaceted problem, which moore does his best to put forward in a intellectual and comical arguement.

Whether you like him or hate him he does address important issues and gets it out in the public eye. You cant fault him for that.

The issue is power, it's either government will have the power of health care over us or do we leave it in the hands of the ruling elite, which one is worse? I like MA plan, leave it up to the state on how it should be run but we do need to nationalize health care. Having it be state run is the lesser of two evils.

Two options here. Moore is either stupid enough to believe the Cuban government's claim that Cubans get the same quality of treatment as the tourists, or he is knowingly shilling for the communists. Either way, he's still an idiot.

Here's my view. I think Istya is basically right that government shouldn't rule everything. Monopolies are dangerous. And our government's primary purpose is to protect us from our enemies, foreign and domestic.

When healthcare companies fail to provide the service that they're created for, however, and thus defraud the public, they constitute domestic enemies just like any common criminal, and it's the government's job to intervene and correct the system, be that through universal healthcare or just through better regulation of business practices in the healthcare industry, which is sorely lacking at present.
