Well considering he is like amateur it's no fucking wonder his picking action is that way.. It may surprise you to learn that alot of the great guitar players like Tommy Emanuel and Eric Clapton Jimmy Page etc. would have all have had an amateur style at one stage...

he got so much more than just talent. He's got the ability to sing, and the ability to write a song and put his heart, soul and own personal anguish and pain in to the song. That mix has created something amazing.
I do pray someone signs him up to a label, that song would be make a worldwide number one easy.
He's got the look of an R&B singer, and has the voice to match. He is a future R&B star, I do hope so anyway.

The guy finger picks very well, thats what finger picking sounds like. He looks like Tracy Chapman.
