Yes, Tesla could probably do even more amazing things today. We probably don't know half of what he invented or discovered.

You know what came to my mind? This would be spectacular for planetary defence against asteroids and meteorites. Let's face it, the odds of our planet being hit by a large body are good enough, we should think about it.

This is just shit. Nikola Tesla was great inventor but this "document" is just crap. "Death beams which has more energy than atomic bomb", yeah right. Try to google this, and you notice that iam right.

I think somebody watched too many disaster films =p. With the constant screening of the universe surrounding our planet, the chances of an asteroid getting close enough to pose a threat are practically non existent. If a big extraterrestrial body on a collision course with Earth will indeed be discovered, we'll have enough time to develop a technology to protect ourselves against it. It also won't need to be anything sophisticated, like a "death ray", as changing the course of the object by tenths parts of a degree should be enough for it to pass us in a safe distance. Heck, probably a conventional rocket would be enough.

I see your point, but I also somewhat disagree; the sky and space beyond are just too vast for us to efficiently cover all of it, all of the time. Yeah sure anything big enough to be noticed I'm sure we would detect it. But forget rockets we could just use particle beams to alter courses etc. Also, there is a growing problem with space debris in orbit from old decaying satellites. We could use particle beams in orbit for a sorta janitorial purpose and make it safer for projects like the space station, etc.
