you know i really hate to be the first on this one but damn how else was it going to end.. i mean did you want them all to die. did you want them to roll over and become narks. and be sent away into the witness protection program.. the hell with that.. good way to end this show. good times .. and yes don't stop.. hold on to that feeling.. the mob rules.. if you hated the ending or you loved it. that doesn't matter.. it was a great show. in a way you are all swimming with the fishes.. tony got you.

after many discussions with some die-hard fans I ultimately drew the conclusion that Tony's dead. The shady looking guy who went into the bathroom came out and put a slug behind his right ear right when meadow walked in. That would explain why it ends so suddenly, the music stops abruptly, and it's followed by a long black silence (which, being agnostic, i believe death is probably like).
Of course it's made to be left open to your imagination and the italian guy who went into the bathroom could have just as easily been AJ's bodyguard appointed by Tony, but I need closure so I chose the ending i thought was the best. I never trusted that cock-eyed little NY midget.

to be honest i thought it was gunna end with some act of terrorism, or something like that. there was alot of discussion in the last few episodes of terrorism and those 2 arab guys. but this is a fitting end to the show, leaves it open for interpratation.

i was waiting for all shots coming and then cutting it out... but yeah thats the way the it ends. sucks but i dont know why they ended it. could have gone on for a few more seasons. Best mob series i have ever seen. I do hope there is a movie....

Bah, enuff talk about a movie, its not going to happen.

This series ended exactly how the creator wanted it to. Otherwise it would have ended differently. He had 18 months to put this together, more than enuff time to end it how he saw fit.

i seen the ending and in my veiew i think he did what he did and make to were everyone was thinking he is going to be wacked or he is going to be in hideing to me they made to were you think well did he get wacked or not we will never know and that was a good way to end it make people think what was that going to happen or not then just leaveing then in damn ill never know

Although I went into a state of shock when I first saw this, I later realized it was the perfect ending for that series. It was filled with symbolism, but the answers are there. This ending was the polar opposite to the end of Six Feet Under (The best series ever)

Quite a bit of the meaning to the ending of this show is in the Journey song Don't Stop Believing. Trust me, they probably spent months on deciding on just what song would fit this shows ending.

I for one appreciate non dramatic endings now and then. It was very suspenseful, and had all the cliche trappings that we have come to expect (the guy with the gap hat, the guido at the bar).

Nothing happened.

I was convinced Meadow was going to get run over. I liked the ending though, its realistic. I hate all these dramatized climaxes, just shows that the whole series was a snippet of Tony's life (well 7 years to be precise).

The great thing about Sopranos was how they tried making him seem like a normal guy, despite his work. He had the same family shit to deal with, the conflict of Italian and American traditions bla bla bla. This is a normal ending for a normal guy. This is where the creators leave his story.

Fitting end.

Besides, those who wanted climax got it. What with Christopher, Johnny Sack, Silvio, Bobby, and Phil all dying in the last few episodes.

he didn't get shot... thats just stupid... i think the ending was to imply that Tony will continue what he was doing, we just wont get to see it... thats what i got...

At first I thought the ending sucked... but looking back, i'd have to say, it was a pretty damn good ending... you also get to choose how you wanted the Sopranos to end... if you want to believe he got whacked then do so... the ending kept me on the edge of my seat though... everyone looked like they were gonna kill tony

Also, Phil Leotardos death scene was crazy!
