also, this is slightly skewered. Food isn't more expensive in Germany than in Great Britain, it's just that these people are eating frickin' awesome stuff while the brits were eating shit, hardly a valid comparison!

they're still healthier than most americans because their food has f-loads of antioxidants. i bet they all smoke too (kid included), yet they'll live on average 5 years longer than americans.
