sonic booms at about 700feet or less i belive can shatter windows and hurt your ears BAD and do other damage it;s that powerful (if i'm wrong plz correct me)

it's not necessarily breaking the sound barrier. i've been to plenty of airshows where a jet is doing a high speed flyby and the condensation cone forms but didn't break the sound barrier

the clouds are a phenomenon known as The Prandtl-Glauert singularity (sometimes referred to as a "vapor cone". when a jet fly at transonic speeds (mach 0.8-1.2) intense low-pressure areas form at various points around an aircraft. If conditions are right (i.e. high humidity) visible clouds will form in these low-pressure areas as shown in these pictures; These clouds remain with the aircraft as it travels. so the fact is that these clouds are with the aircraft the whole time as long as it is flying at transonic speed but when the photographers took these pictures they probably only see it appear for several seconds because if you look at a different angles, nothing will appear. It is not necessary for the aircraft as a whole to reach supersonic speeds for these clouds to form.

about sonic booms, you can in fact create one. The cracking sound a bullwhip makes when properly wielded is, in fact, a sonic boom. The end of the whip, known as the "cracker", moves faster than the speed of sound, thus resulting in the sonic boom . The whip was the first human invention to break the sound barrier.
