I live in a South East Asian country that doesn't allow the possession of firearms. Firearm murders come once every 20 years. No bullshit. Not being able to own guns DO reduce the number of gun related deaths.

I hate guns, but i know that it's way too late for gun control to work. Hand guns are illegal in Canada, but criminals still get them easily enough. Even if you got rid of all the guns in the world, people will just start killing with knives. Knives are coo.

There are just way too many guns, and that's not going to change any time soon. Start focusing on like, phaser control =p

And I hope that you turn on your TV tonight and see how many car crashes there have been today and realize that guns are not the only thing that kills if not used appropriately.

guns are just another way for people to kill other people. getting rid of guns wont do shit. i would recommend an experiment: leave a gun alone on a table, fully loaded, and see what happens. i think the outcome would be surprising.

The argument is that "people need guns for protection, but who the fuck are they so scared of, especially living in "white suburbia..." Even outside these areas the police SHOULD be able to do their jobs and keep down crime."

This kinda argument only works in a "doveloped" country tho... (I hate this fucking term.)

In South Africa, even with our electric fencing, security gaurds and dogs, we sleep with a gun in the bedside drawer- but this is because we truly HAVE to.

Therefore, different places will need different gun regulation. Its impossible to apply "first world" regulation in a "third world" country.

I realise however America is BIG, and so each state should enforce gun regulations accordingly.

Im my country, where the threat of burglary/death is very real, it helps alot of people to sleep.

Id shoot any fuck trying to get into my house to cause shit. Not nice to say, but TIA, (this is africa.) :)
