More Crazy Chrisitan Zionist Bs Propaganda ...
1.In A.D. 135, the Romans drove the Jews out of Jerusalem. The Romans named the area Palaestina.Palestine was governed by the Roman Empire until the fourth century A.D. (300's) and then by the Byzantine Empire who kept the name PALESTINE.
2.In December 1947, the British announced that they would withdraw from Palestine by May 15, 1948. Palestinians in Jerusalem and Jaffa called a general strike against the partition. Fighting broke out in Jerusalem’s streets almost immediately...Violent incidents mushroomed into all-out war...During that fateful April of 1948, eight out of thirteen major Zionist military attacks on Palestinians occurred in the territory granted to the Arab state.
Jews occupied most of the Arab cities in Palestine before May 15, 1948. Tiberias was occupied on April 19, 1948, Haifa on April 22, Jaffa on April 28, the Arab quarters in the New City of Jerusalem on April 30, Beisan on May 8, Safad on May 10 and Acre on May 14, 1948 In contrast, the Palestine Arabs did not seize any of the territories reserved for the Jewish state under the partition resolution
3.First Terrorist act was done by Zionist group Irgon. They Bombed the King David Hotel in Jerusalem killing 91 people (among them British, Palestinian and Jewish employees of the mandate)

I know the SH crowd loves to be all politically self-righteous and prove its left-wing street cred, but seriously, I'm not following on how this is (for the time period in question) either untrue or misleading.

The UN declared the existance of Israeli and Palestinian states. (Yes, it is feasible to question their right to do this, but it's far from the first time an international body has dictated national borders, even to the point of creating new nations) The Arab countries of the region, basically everyone bordering the new Israeli state, invaded as soon as independence was declared. The Israelis beat the crap out of them, seizing some of the land set aside for Palestine, ostensibly for their own safety. The Arab nations further nullified Palestine by staking their own claims to land from the proposed nation.

The Israelis are hardly faultless in the entirety of the scenario, but really, seven Arab nations went into material breach of a UN resolution when they attacked Israel. Israel defeated them, and considering the actions of the Arab countries, quite reasonably demanded an expansion of its borders fo provide for national defense. Jordan and Egypt further ignored the resolution by taking away the land set aside for Palestine and preventing that nation's founding.

The Israelis were persecuted and attacked. They fought back. They got their own nation, and then the Arab world tried to destroy it in the name of people who the same Arab world screwed over anyway.

Pretty good summary, if you ask me.

Poor Palestinians. They're the scapegoats between the Arab Nations and Israel. No other way of putting it.

Yakaji, nicely said. We in South Africa are a few of those left who still openly supports Israel.

Right on Yakaji. And it should be said that the Palestinian's initially rejected the mandate of a bi lateral state while the Jewish people accepted since they would just take anything that was given to them at that point. The Palestinian didn't (don't) just want their own country, they wanted (want) the state of Israel in its entirety.

Gee Walteronrice, there is a ringing endorsement of Israel: South Africa. This relationship goes all the way back to when SA was still under aparteid and reflects a shared view of oppressing people in their territory.

A big thing is that the Zionists pushed for partition, it wasn't just some random act by Britain. The UN partition vote only went ahead because Zionists used anti-sematism and terrorism to convince people they could get rid of all the jews in their countries if they allowed the creation of a jewish homeland. This was just the first of many disgracful tactics used by Zionists.

There is nothing inherently wrong with this time line shown, but it ignores the fact that the Israelis presented a huge shift in the balance of power that was directed at foiling arab states in the region. How do you think they won that first war and the ones to follow? They were armed to the teeth. If your country was suddenly sitting next to a newly created country with lots of military hardware and political agenda not in your favour, you would get pretty nervous too. Hell the US freaks out if countries on the other side of the planet develope competing weapons, let along right next door. We almost went to war over the Cuban missle crisis for the same reasons (keep in mind the Israelis would get the nuke from the US as part of this military support).

Even if you dont have a problem with one day finding out your land is now given away, the partition chopped palastinian terroritory into peices, note how Israel was all connected, while most of Palestine was isolated from the much needed Mediteranian sea. THis only got worse after the war and has feuled bitterness for decades.

How is calling Glenn Beck a tool any different from the way conservatives discredit people by calling them leftists, liberals and hippies. I'm sorry I hurt your feeling but I don't have to explain my views here, we all know no one is going to change their stance. Btw did I mention Glenn Beck is a knob?
