These people you dare to call "rednecks" are responsible people who are respecting the law and willing to fight to defend their and other's life and safety. These people have nothing to do with the real problem: criminals who are running around with illegally owned weapons tucked in their pants and who barely know how to use them. And these criminals don't care if concealed carry is legal in their state or not.

So if you'd rather stay defenseless and hide and run away from your agressors (who will probably have guns, whatever they're legal or not), hoping that the cops will arrive in time to save your crap-covered ass, it's your choice, but don't force the others to become as defenseless as you are.

May I also say that massacres allways occured in "gun free" zones? If the Virginia Campus wasn't a so-called "gun-free" zone, cho seung hui wouldn't have been like a wolf in the middle of a bunch of defenseless sheeps.

When the guns are outlawed, guess who still has the guns? Yes sir the criminals, and government...it may be prudent to be prepared to protect your family, person, or property. Good folks who see it that way, may just want to have the best training they can get to handle their sidearm safely, effectively, and responsibly. The 2nd Am, was put written for a reason.

Outlaw the guns, and only the outlaws will have guns. Cops are rarely on a crime scene in time, but allways are victims.

You cannot make all the guns magically disappear from everyone's hand. Criminals will never surrender their guns if they become illegal because they're criminals and violating the law is what they do. And most of them are owning their guns illegaly already. Only people who are following the law will turn theirs in.

Take this example: Marijuana is illegal but every retard can still buy some easily without any control whatsoever. And it's not like the cops are not trying to stop that. Do you want that to happen to guns too? The only gun control that works is to make sure that people with a criminal record are not autorised to buy or own a weapon and fight the illegal gun market that can supply these people with weapons as much as you can. That's all you can do and nothing more will make a difference.

The US has high crime rate not because of the guns but because of the poverty rate. There are many other countries out there, like Switzerland or Israel, where guns are popular and the crime rate is low.
