Thompson Responds to Michael Moore's Cha...

Michael Moore has challenged Fred Thompson to a health care debate. At issue -- Moore's trip to Cuba and Thompson's criticism of that trip. Moore noted Thompson's evident favor for Cuban cigars as a possible violation of the trade embargo. Now, Thompson responds. Cigar in hand.

What about those guys that do things Bush doesn't like, then get locked up in guantanamo or abu gharib.

MSN Encarta defines torture as "severe mental anguish or physical pain"


You wouldn't say being stripped naked and made to get into a human pyramid with other POWs could be considered as inflicting severe mental anguish?


The definition of 'torture' off wikipedia, a definition that is closely monitored on there:

"Torture is defined as the infliction of severe physical or psychological pain as an expression of cruelty, a means of intimidation, deterrent or punishment, or as a tool for the extraction of information or confessions.

I think you need to read the definition of torture again, and the US military isn't a fraternity, it has international laws and standards to obey. Also frat initiations are cases where the people being initiated agree to the initiation because they want to enter the frat

It may have been illegal and stupid but I still don't think you can call it torture to embarrass someone while they are in prison. The people who did those things were punished for violating those laws.

Torture doesn't have to kill you or physically harm you to be called torture. Waterboarding is another form of torture where there's no threat of death or permanent physical damage. Immobilising an individual and pouring water over his face to simulate drowning, which produces a severe gag reflex, making the subject believe his death is imminent while ideally not causing permanent physical damage. "The threat of imminent death" is one of the legal definitions of torture under U.S. law

I think we got off point.

The point is Michael Moore is a fat, America hating moron who needs to stay in Cuba. I don't see anyone trying to defect from the USA or sneak over the border to work in Mexico. He just likes to make prpoganda films and let people get pissed. Lets hold pictures up of people who died at Columbine or walk around to Congressmen and ask them to sign their kids up for the military. Lets tug on the heartstrings of Americans and make a bilion dollars. Fuck you Michael Moore. Go back to Canada. And by the way, why isn't he doing a movie and saying how great the universal health care in Canada is. Because it isn't.
