Look its not asleep. Chickens are really dumb. Once its head is under its wing it doesn't want to move its wing because it can't see anything.

I play tricks with my cat. You put a plastic bowl on its head. It can't see anything so it walks backwards. It will keep walking backwards untill the bowl falls off or it backs into something. (I'm guessing someone will take this idea and youtube it)
