^ dude what? its afl. the channel it comes from shows nothing but afl, you're very very wrong. be quiet. to start with, he wouldnt get tackled like that in rugby, he'd have sleeves on his jumper, THEY WOULD USE A RUGBY BALL. aaand it wouldnt be 2 AFL teams against each other.

Gaskin isn't from Australia obviously.

there are several ways to tell that this is AFL:

1. They are kicking the ball (you don't kick the ball from a standing position in rugby)
2. "Smother" is a term used in AFL where a player attempts to thwart the kick of their opponent.
3. The players are spread around over the place (in rugby the teams line up against each other like in American Football clashing head-on)
4. The team outfits (Rugby is all long-sleeve jerseys with shorts, AFL is sleeveless shirts)
5. This is Richmond Tigers vs Melbourne Demons (Both AFL teams)
6. Nathan Brown (the player who's leg got broken) was an AFL athlete who's career was abruptly cut short.
7. If you look in the top-right corner it says FOX FOOTY (not RUGBY). "FOOTY" is not used when referring to the sport of Rugby.

This should be on MTVs new series 'Scarred'. It's full of twisted clips of appendages bending in unnatural ways from extreme sports and tells the first hand stories of the injured in grave and awesome detail. Check it out, I'm hooked.

This was not a career ending injury. He came back for two games last season (2006) and then did a hamstring - which ended that season for him. Not sure if he's played this season at all - I'll leave that to someone else to fill in.
