Here are a few ways I think they could improve this trick:
1. ugly lady turns into a hot chick
2. hot chick's shirt turns into no shirt
3. gorilla suit turns into a real gorilla that beats everyone to death (except the hot chick with no shirt)

I think this trick is more to prove that its easy to be intentionally distracted and misled during magic tricks. Simple distractions prove invaluable when attempting to fool people. With our attention on the cards, we fail to see the clothes change. I guess you could say half of being a magician is being able to command the attention of others.
