purified water... Can be chilled to below freezing without ice crystals forming. Once it gets in contact with oxygen, it will form ice crystals. I've never seen it to this extreme but I have seen it freeze over inside the bottle once the cap was taken off and oxygen was introduced into the bottle.

tha_help, your wrong, Its gel not ice, refer back to the video of how to make water dissappear, the person places a gel solution into the bottom of a cup which absorbs the water and coinsedentally it looks like ice...

Y'know, I've had dreams where this happens when I'm taking a piss, and the challenge is to force it all out before the ice freezes your urethra. Great fun. It's like those dreams where you can't seem to run properly.

That's not purified water. It's a supersaturated solution of either salt or sugar that when poured into a container that contains even the smallest crystal, will begin to crystallize the whole solution in a kind of chain reaction, forming the solid. That's why when he touches the bottle to the crystal, the inside of the bottle crystallizes as well.

^no... it would have completely turned to crystals if that were the case. look at the bowl and you can see how the ice begins to melt and not continue to make crystals
