Labrador. Best dogs in the universe, as long as you dont feed them like an asshole. They are prone to get fat.

I hate when people perpetuate the stupid myth. They are not stupid. Infact they are very easy to teach, so if ease of learning has any impact on intelligence...
Sure they might not be able to recite and understand Newtons law but your ugly pet mongrel wont be able to do that either.
They also make excellent blind dogs, are very tolerant with children, and gentle minded (not even mentioning all their hunting qualities). Thats why you never hear "Child had his face bitten off by labrador" and never will.

Oh and yeah might not wanna tease a dog with food. You can see how hes yearning for it when licking his lips and nose. Sure obedience is needed but.. this just seems excessive..

Aww :/ Well he must have been really angry then. Didnt say they were immune and he prolly just "bit" your nose, to make a point that he was fed up, not bit your face off. ;)

Im not the most objective source obviously since I love them completely :P Im a bit of a lab nazi though, I cant stand chocolate or yellow labs :P Its black or white for me, ironically.

frogleg, you're totally right about them being gentle. My yellow lab puppy (who is fully grown and you would think would be too crazy to trust around a cat) plays with my ferrets, mostly by rolling around and letting them jump on his face. There's never been an incident, and the ferrets love him now.

Now that I think of it, I should post a vid of it on spiked, it's pretty funny.
