My grandpa was on one of those boats. Pretty crazy, he has an 8mm(I think?) Picture of Bikini Atoll after they did all this, the place was decimated from what it looked like.

There were no people on ANY of those ships, this was a durability test to see how our fleet of battleships, destroyers, cruisers, etc would withstand a nuke hit. Most of those ships were sunk..
