There are only about 40 supermarine spitfires left in the world, none of them were used for this video, those were clearly NOT real.

I think it is interesting to note that while American and British pilots were considered an "Ace" after 5 kills, most experienced German Aces had hundreds of air to air kills. One the the leading aces had more than 282 kills to his credit.

Actually there are somewhere around 90 airworthy spitty's around today and rising. They do air shows and demonstrations all over and if you actually look, they ARE spits. If they aren't real, they are damn good replicas.

It's computer animated smarty pants, how the hell do you think they get those perfect camera angels doing such fly work, it also looks too "clean".

The battle of Britain was a contest for dominion over the English channel. The Lufwaffe had to destroy RAF fighter command before they could launch a successful amphibious invasion (codenamed operation sealion). throughout the battle the British were at a marked disadvantage in both numbers, training and experience. The lufwaffe outnumbered them approximately 2:1, though this figure does not including bombers or unarmed scouts. the RAF Hurricane aircraft was inferior to the Me 109, the Spitfire was marginally superior, though did not appear in significant numbers enough to tip the balance against such odds alone. After months of nearly constant battles and despite suffering horrendous losses RAF fighter command was still operational, primarily because Hitler ordered the 'Blitz' in a major tactical folly that distracted the Lufwaffe enough to allow a partial rearmament and recouperation. Through this reprieve, innovations in the form of radar and inexorable (even sometimes suicidal) courage and determination, the RAF held the line in lieu of significant international support. Despite being outclassed in almost every facet, the British refused to surrender until Lufwaffe losses became too signficant and the Russian uprising demanded the attention of the Lufwaffe elsewhere, effectively ending the battle. After that point, Hitler was forced to abandon invasion plans indefinitely and by persisting in the attacks had not only depleted the Lufwaffe's strength (significantly reducing the number of German aircraft present during the d-day landings) but had utterly failed to damage British morale. The battle of Britain is regarded as the first and most significant Allied victory in western Europe with the exception of the D-day landings and played a major part in Hitler's downfall.

Britain should have given Hitler the Victoria Cross for the way he handled the Battle of Britain.
