This is a personal favorite I have interpreted to mean as one grows and and changes his views there are repercussions you must expect.
Kris wrote this song and Janis Joplin made it famous. A side not, i upped two versions og Pilgrim Chapter 33, they are different as one is live and the other the album version so please vote them seperatley.
This is a song about the struggle to become a music artist. June and john are the Cashs and they helped Kris to get a start.
In this song I think the point is to not judge others by your standards.
In many circumstances of life chance is all that makes the difference and I believe this song addresses that well.
Written in the early 70's this song addresses how anyone acting against the "Norm" was treated by the establishment.
I enjoyed this son in my youth as I watched so many girls go for "The Bad Boys" ignoring the better choices right in front of them.
Here Kris speaks to how some people struggle threw life, at least in others eyes. I really felt the significance of this song when i was between 18 and 30.
