Video:Spielberg Series Sued For Haircut

Spielberg Series Sued For Haircut

A family from the Mescalero Apache tribe is suing the producers of a Steven Spielberg TV series for cutting their daughter's hair for the show.

The family said the hair of Christina Ponce, aged eight, was cut without regard for their tribal customs. It was cut to make her look more 'Indian' and like a male Indian child because the movie casting call failed to produce sufficient young male extras of Indian heritage.

"It's part of our culture not to cut a girl's hair until her Coming of Age ceremony," her father Danny Ponce said.

"The only ones allowed to do that are the parents." His daughter had been acting in mini-series Into the West.

Mr Ponce added that "nobody asked for permission" before a stylist cut Christina's hair. He said he had filed his claim in the US District Court in Albuquerque.

Video:Another Sex Video Scandal

Another Sex Video Scandal

About 40 seconds of material from a video showing former Creed frontman Scott Stapp, Kid Rock and four women having sex, has been published on the web.

It has caused a string of lawsuits by Kid Rock, one of the women on the tape, and now Scott Stapp.

In December of 1999, when Kid Rock and Scott Stapp were on tour together, Stapp filmed himself and Kid Rock performing various sexual acts with four strippers in Kid Rock’s chartered bus.

The video, part of Scott Stapp’s private collection, was allegedly stolen from Stapp’s house and subsequently sold to the World Wide Red Light District, the company that brought you the Paris Hilton sex video.

About a month ago, Kid Rock successfully sued Red Light District, accusing the company of violating his trademark and privacy rights. The judge has signed a temporary court order to stop Red Light District from distributing the video.

Next in line was one of the women on the video, suing Scott Stapp. She accused Stapp of leaking the sex tape to up the sales of his solo album. The woman, identified as "Jane Doe" in the lawsuit, said she believed the video would remain in Stapp's private possession. The lawsuit seeks to prevent sale of the video and asks for unspecified damages, alleging the woman suffered emotional distress.

And now, Scott Strap is suing the Red Light District, to prevent the company from bringing out the video. Stapp's lawsuit alleges that the tape was stolen from a safe at his house. The lawsuit states that Red Light District violated his trademark and privacy rights, causing him embarrassment, pain, suffering and emotional distress.

Red Light District has said the tape came from a third party, but the company denies it has been stolen. They have declined to say how the company's source acquired the video.

Video:Christians Plan To Boycott Da Vinci Code

Christians Plan To Boycott Da Vinci Code

It was late and I was nearly asleep. I was flipping channels and happened to stop on a Christian televangelist show. I sometimes watch these types of programs simply for the comedic value of some of the things they say, plus it helps me sleep. However, this time, something they were talking about caught my attention from near R.E.M.

The wild-eyed man on the T.V. was talking about Dan Brown's popular book and soon to be released movie, “The Da Vinci Code”. There was talk of blasphemy, lies, and boycotts. He was quoting bible scriptures right and left, talking about how the false prophets will come to deceive the masses, fire and brimstone, and relating Mr. Brown to the Anti-Christ.

I have read the publication in question and enjoyed it thoroughly. In my opinion, it was a well written and well thought out story of adventure. It is the type of book that is hard to put down. I recommend it to everyone here.

To this guy on T.V. however, it was an affront to everything he holds sacred. He was actually angry over the whole thing. He called on Christians everywhere to boycott the movie and protest outside theaters. He vowed to fight this movie until the day his good lord takes him away to whatever paradise they are selling people nowadays. He never mentioned book-burning, but I could see in his eyes that he was thinking it. I wonder if he knows the book is actually a sequel?

I did some research and found this crackpot book-burner isn’t alone. There are nutjobs out there actually planning on protesting the release of this movie. It is a completely fictional story that makes no claims to be based in fact and yet there are still people who would like to see it suppressed. These are supposedly good Christians who only have our best interests in mind.

I say screw these people. Everybody go out (or download), regardless of your religious beliefs, watch this movie and enjoy it for what it is. A well put together piece of fictional work.

Also, don’t forget the eggs. You will need something to throw at the sign-wielding idiots.

Bush Unaware Mikes Were Still On

The eavesdropping tables were turned on President Bush on Friday. The president apparently believed he was speaking privately when he talked about listening in without a warrant on domestic communications with suspected al-Qaida terrorists overseas. But reporters were the ones doing the listening in this time.

The incident happened at a House Republican retreat. After six minutes of public remarks by the president, reporters were ushered out. "I support the free press, let's just get them out of the room," Bush said, intending to speak behind closed doors with fellow Republicans and take lawmakers' questions.

The microphones stayed on for a few minutes. Allowing journalists back at the White House to eavesdrop on Bush's defense of the eavesdropping. His private statements were basically no different from what he's said in public. "I want to share some thoughts with you before I answer your questions," Bush began. "First of all, I expect this conversation we're about to have to stay in the room. I know that's impossible in Washington."

He was right.

Foot-Long 'Snoop Doggs' Coming To Grocery Stores

Snoop Dogg recently inked a deal with Platinum One Media to launch a new business with the rapper – foot-long hot dogs.

According to the Boston Herald, the rapper’s latest venture is “Snoop Doggs,” a new hot dog line launching with partners Franco Petrucci and Jeff Earp.

Earp is a former owner of a Joe & Nemo’s in Massachusetts, a popular hot dog business that was started in 1909.

“There aren’t any celebrity hot dogs out there,” Snoop’s brother and business manager Bing Worthington told the Herald. “Who’s the competition? Ball Park...Imagine a long, skinny hot dog just like Snoop.”

The rapper’s line of hot dogs is being made in Massachusetts and will hit grocery stores in January.

Snoop takes advantage of everything,” Bing said. “This rap money isn’t long. Just ask MC Hammer.”

"Rush Hour 3" Ready to Roll. Finally.

Rush Hour 3 is finally on the fast track.

After more than two years of idling in development hell--largely due to Chris Tucker not being in any rush to get back to work, not even for an eight-figure payday--New Line Cinema has locked up all the principals and is slated to begin production next year for a 2007 summer release.

The studio had originally hoped to begin work on the sequel in 2003, but Tucker, despite being offered $20 million, demanded script approval. In the meantime, the other key players--costar Jackie Chan, director Brett Ratner and screenwriter Jeff Nathanson--began to fill up their calendars with other gigs.

Now, per Variety, all four have signed on to make the third installment in the action-comedy franchise about two mismatched cops--one from Los Angeles (Tucker), the other from Hong Kong (Chan)--who team up to battle baddies.

As first reported in New Yorker last April, Tucker will still receive $20 million upfront, and he'll get 20 percent of the back-end gross; those terms will also extend to a future film to be determined. In exchange, the comedian has agreed to forego script approval, as long as the script closely mirrors Nathanson's pitch.

New Reality Show Is Out Of This World...Or Not

A new British reality show is taking a group of unwitting civilians and trying to convince them they've been launched into space, according to This Is London.

Nine unsuspecting Britons will be fooled into thinking they are going to be blasted into space as tourists after some serious training from the Space Tourism Agency of Russia.

In fact, the clueless cosmonauts will be going to space camp in an unused British airbase — and their shuttle will be a Tinseltown toy made for the Clint Eastwood movie "Space Cowboys."

Britain's Channel 4 told This Is London the joke could end up being on them if the nine cosmo-nots, right now being selected in a secret locale that has no contact with the outside world, catch on to the prank.

To monitor their suspicions, the network placed three actors in the group to report to them on whether they stay fooled.

To help the space cadets stay fooled after the non-lift off, a Hollywood specialist created the launch sound, the shuttle is rigged to tip and rock and a huge screen just the window will show a view of Earth from space — even including a hurricane over Mexico.

Film Cut Short As Cypriot Kids See Nudity

An organised school trip to the cinema was cut short after Cypriot children, some as young as 12, were exposed to nudity and sex scenes in the British comedy "Love Actually".

The Nicosia school visit involved 150 pupils who were taken to see the film after it had been approved by both teachers and the student council, reported Simerini newspaper on Wednesday.

Thirty minutes from the end the screening was interrupted after some people in the audience objected to the sight of a topless woman during a sex scene.

The headmistress admitted the choice of film was a mistake and that the teachers should have known better.

The film had a category two rating -- deemed only suitable for people aged 15 and over.
