This is not my upload, but I saw a series of pics from the same spot (like 8-12 pics). Seemed not only genuine, but also showed close-ups with maggots/caterpillars embedded in the webbing, for example under the bike seat.

Looks like your brain doesn't work so good, you might want to take it back jeffrc - or at least stop the snap judgements.

EDIT: oh yeah, and it extended WAY up the tree, as well as around.

we call them web worms in texas, and a few years back they were killing trees left and right. then the next year we had a shitload of grasshoppers and they were killing everyone's yards and bushes. after that it was wood spiders they are big and mean looking. they also carry their young on their back, so if you squish one the babies will scatter all over the place. It seems as if there is always some bug trying to take over in texas.
