This should be a huge plus for NORML. He smoked pot and didn`t turn into a pancake, have his dog tell him to stop, not be able to play basketball. He won like 8 gold medals. Take that anti-pot commercials.

I dont get why people call him the greatest Olympian ever.. All he does is swim. Its not like he is in the decathlon doing multiple sports winning golds.

A lot of fantastic athletes smoke and most likely why you don`t see them in the olympics, x-games, ect. Smoking weed kinda goes along with the lifestyle of extreme sports i mean...Hey I`m going to risk my life doing one run/trick but I can`t smoke a little weed here and there? Maybe not so much for swimming but i`d imagine he trained high and listened to music during his 6 hour a day swims. I personally take a hit before I run, dunno what it is but it gets me in the zone....I run 3 miles 4 times a week, ya i`m a stoner. You won`t see my drinking alcohol much though because it`s basically poison...makes you fat, muscles get weak, hangovers, ruins your internal organs, the buzz is heavy and dizzying, tastes like shit most of the time unless you spend 10 bucks on a 6 pack. Not to mention it stays in your muscles so if you drink a lot your going to end up pudgy with little muscle mass and energy level. The only plus about alcohol is it`s legal. I personally think America as a whole would benefit from a healthier legal alternative.
