teen was suffocated at boot camp

a 14-year-old boy, who died at a florida boot camp, was suffocated, according to the findings of the coroner.

the family questioned the initial findings of the coroner, who stated that martin lee anderson had died of complications of sickle cell trait.

anderson’s body was exhumed after a video tape surfaced showing guards of the boot camp severely beating and kicking the boy. only hours after the beating, the boy was brought to the hospital, where he died.

apparently, the boy died because his mouth was blocked and he was forced to breath in ammonia fumes, which caused his vocal cords to spasm and blocked his upper airways, leading to the suffocation.

it seems that the guards used the ammonia to keep the boy conscious.

no one has been arrested for the death. nor was anyone apprehended for the beating, which led to protests in the state capitol.

however, according to ap, law makers did scrap the military style boot camps, and a senior law enforcement officer resigned over the tragedy.

governor jeb bush has ordered an investigation into the matter.

anderson was send to the boot camp for violating his probation by going to a school, after he and his cousins had been charged with stealing his grandmother’s car from a church parking lot.
