"deception on d-day ". 6th june 1944. one of the most decisive moments of world war ii and `the largest single-day amphibious invasion of all time` on the northern french coast. the sas (special air service) yet again proved immensely effective by performing intelligence and sabotage operations behind the german lines.
"hunting hitler`s terror weapons". part 2/part 3. v for vengeance. in late 1944, with victory for the allies in sight, the nazis were still capable of using their v2 rockets to create terror. the v2 was "the first ballistic missile and first man-made object to achieve sub-orbital spaceflight". the sas (special air service) was called in to deal with this danger.
part 2/part 3 part one. on 2 april 1982 argentina invaded the disputed falkland islands (malvinas) in the south atlantic and under british control. the uk responded by sending a task force and achieving a decisive victory on 14 june 1982. the sas (special air service) played an important part in this and is the principal special forces unit of the british army. the sas can trace its existence back to 1941 and its motto is "who dares wins".

"liberating the iranian embassy". after world war ii the sas (special air service) slipped out of the limelight, despite sterling service in the malayan emergency (1948-1960) and the indonesia-malaysia confrontation (1962-66). all this changed in april/may 1980 when a group of arab separatists took over the iranian embassy in london.
