as many of you know, alex jones predicted the terrorist attack on 9/11 about 1 1/2 months before it occured. due to recent hints of preparation in the news, he is again predicting a 90% chance of a huge attack to occur in either america, canada, england, or israel. this attack, or string of attacks will make 9/11 seem like a picnic. this audio clip is from his august 10, 2006 radio show.

speaking at the first ted conference in 1984, speaking at the first ted conference in 1984, nicholas negroponte waxes prophetic on the converging fields of technology, entertainment and design. years before anyone was using the word "convergence," negroponte was thinking about tv screens as the "electronic books of the future" and computers as the future of education. in excerpts from his 2-hour talk (this was before ted's 18-minute time limit), he foreshadowed cd-roms, web interfaces, service kiosks, the touchscreen interface of the iphone, and his own one laptop per child project. oh, and there's also a fascinating project called lip service, which, well, let's just say it's still ahead of us waxes prophetic on the converging fields of technology, entertainment and design. years before anyone was using the word "convergence," negroponte was thinking about tv screens as the "electronic books of the future" and computers as the future of education. in excerpts from his 2-hour talk (this was before ted's 18-minute time limit), he foreshadowed cd-roms, web interfaces, service kiosks, the touchscreen interface of the iphone, and his own one laptop per child project. oh, and there's also a fascinating project called lip service, which, well, let's just say it's still ahead of us

a farragut man who said the end of the world would begin on friday has been fired from his job at knology after going public with it.
john gilmore had run the east tennessee operations for phone, cable, and internet company knology.
he'd predicted five big cities in the us would face economic collapse on friday 11th november.
he now says he has no hard feelings toward knology, and understands why it let him go.
"in the end i view it as a resignation. i feel god is calling me to do other things. i've said this before but a couple of months ago he told me i wasn't going to work anymore."
john now admits he got the dates wrong but he holds fast to his belief god is going to punish people for their sins, and it is coming soon.
"it is coming. it's for our sins against him and our refusal to ask for forgiveness through his son. that has not changed. and i feel it is imminent and i don't know the date and i don't know the time."
