a thief caught shoplifting in germany failed to grasp the concept of a quick getaway when he jumped into a cement mixer to try to flee the scene of his crime. the man had stolen cheese from a supermarket in the town of limbach-oberfrohna. when a shop detective caught him pinching the £1.95 item off the shelf, he broke free and hot-footed it to his cement-mixing truck outside. police were alerted and the 55-year-old man was arrested when he stopped at a red light a few hundred metres away.
