man files suit, claims lap dance injury

new york - a businessman claims in a lawsuit that he was injured when a stripper giving him a lap dance swiveled and smacked him in the face with the heel of her shoe.

stephen chang, a securities trader, said in court papers filed friday that he was at the hot lap dance club near madison square garden and was getting a paid lap dance when the accident occurred early nov. 2, 2007.

according to the lawsuit, as the dancer swung around, the heel of her shoe hit him in the eye, causing him "serious injuries."

a man who identified himself as the manager of the hot lap dance club said he was unaware of the accident or the state supreme court lawsuit. the club's lawyer, stephen ateshoglou, did not immediately return a call.

on its web site, the club describes itself as the "playboy mansion of manhattan party lofts." the site says admission is $50 plus a one-time club membership fee of $10 for newcomers. lap dances cost around $40, plus admission, according to the web site.

an italian lap dancer turned nun is to perform a religious dance in front of an audience of roman catholic cardinals and bishops.

anna nobili, 38, spent years working as an exotic dancer and striptease artist in night clubs in milan.

but she swapped string bikinis and high heels for a nun's habit after a visit to the shrine of st francis in assisi, a place of pilgrimage for millions of catholics in umbria, in 2002.

sister nobili, as she became, joined an order of nuns called the sister workers of the holy house of nazareth.

she claims to have been reborn by her faith in god and practises a form of "mystical" choreography which she calls "holy dance".

she is due to perform in front of senior catholic clerics next week at the holy cross in jerusalem basilica, one of rome's best known churches.

the performance, based on stories from the old and new testaments, will be called: "the bible: day and night".

among the guests expected to attend will be archbishop gianfranco ravasi, who is in charge of the vatican's cultural department.

sister nobili, who now calls herself a "ballerina for god", said: "i was wasting my life dancing for men in clubs. the nights were filled with sex and alcohol. it was an empty life but i liked it because i was the center of attention.

"but now my life has been transformed," she told la repubblica. "i still dance but now i dance for god and i'm happy. all my choreography is dedicated to him. my aim is to pray using my body."

stripper sues high school teacher for lap dance

nineteen-year-old stripper elaine ivanowski is suing quabbin regional high school after she gave a lap dance to one of her high school teachers and got into a romantic relationship with another.

ivanowski's lawyer richard j. rafferty says that she should have received counselling once it was revealed that she was romantically involved with 36-year-old teacher john monfredo jr.

ivanowski says that instead of getting the help she needed, a teacher she trusted with her secret asked her on date, while another teacher visited the strip club where she worked.

monfredo told a local newspaper that he really was in love with his former student, but did not know whether others at the school were aware of the affair.

rafferty accuses school officials of allowing ivanowski to stay in a relationship she should have been protected from. he goes on to say that monfredo should have been removed from the school.

according to rafferty, ivanowski was under such duress that she was unable to take exams, and she was banned from attending graduation ceremonies.

the experience wasn't just painfully awkward for johansson, it was just plain painful.

"i had this very tall girl ... she was amazonian. she was, like, this tall really, really skinny girl," said johansson. "she was quite manic and strange."

"so she's kind of gyrating into me," she continued, "[but] she was so thin that her pelvic or hip bone or some kind of bone bruised me. it was horrible!"

johansson stars opposite woody allen and hugh jackman in the comedy "scoop," which opens friday.

lawyer accepts lap dances as payment

a dekalb lawyer was suspended for 15 months thursday for arranging to have a female client perform nude dances for him in exchange for credit on her legal fees, a state commission said.

scott robert erwin, a lawyer since 1980, will begin his suspension oct. 7, according to the illinois attorney registration and disciplinary commission, a branch of the state supreme court that conducts investigations into attorney misconduct.

erwin represented the female client and several of her family members on several different types of cases.

the relationship began in 2001 at heartbreakers, a compton, ill., strip club where, after erwin talked to an exotic dancer, both realized they had talked to each other over the telephone about some pending legal matters, according to the commission's report of the allegations.

erwin agreed to represent her on several legal matters, and they mutually agreed that she perform nude dances for him in his office as a way to cut down on the legal fees, according to the report.

she claimed that on several occasions from february to june in 2002 she would go to his office, remove her clothing and dance for half-hour sessions. she also claimed that erwin continued to go to heartbreakers, where he would pay the $15 entrance fee but wouldn't pay her for performing nude dances.

she claims during the dances at his office, he inappropriately touched her, the report states. he denied any such touching in police interviews.

erwin credited her for $534, but she complained because her bill had reached $7,000, the report states.

the woman went to dekalb police in 2002 about the sexual assault allegations, and an investigation led to a hearing before the dekalb county grand jury in 2003, seeking a charge of criminal sexual assault. the grand jury did not vote for an indictment, the commission report states.

when reached by phone thursday, erwin declined to comment. he has no prior disciplinary action from the state. he was a former chairman of the dekalb county pro bono committee of the dekalb county bar association, according to the commission documents.

the woman, who is no longer an exotic dancer, is married with three children and is a real estate agent, according to the report. source

an angry san diego topless dancer pulled out a knife and stabbed a customer after he refused a lap dance, police said on thursday.

"he was in the club with some friends watching the shows when she came up and asked if he wanted a lap dance," hassen said. "he said no, she got upset about it, they argued back and forth. she pulled knife out of her bag and stabbed him."

dixon was taken into custody and police found methamphetamine in a small metal container in dixon's bag, hassen said, adding that she may face drug charges. officers also confiscated a small folding knife.

jordan was treated for his injuries and released by a local hospital.

tech giant yahoo covering their tracks and writing up hasty apologizes after their recent taiwan hack day event featured a lap dancing number that resulted in a spate of bad publicity.

hack day, which was hosted on 17-18th october, is a much-hyped about affair where developers and coders mingled to talk about emerging trends in the it field as well as indulging in events like the creation of a net application in 24 hours.

however, innovative web-based applications was not the talk of the day when pictures of this coding weekend was made public over the internet.

a number of folks were outraged when they discovered that developers were taken on stage and offered lap dances by women in skimpy outfits.

the main objections from the opposing front was that because of this women coders, especially ones present at hack day, would feel unwelcome. some in this group also asserted that such incidents were insulting to women in general.

on the other hand, there were a large percentage of the public who were dismissive of these objections, stating that these objections were an overreaction.

in the end, because of the furor surrounding the event, chris yeh, a spokesperson for yahoo penned an apology on the yahoo developer network.

“as many folks have rightly pointed out, the “hack girls” aspect of our taiwan hack day is not reflective of that spirit or purpose. and it’s certainly not the message we want to send about our values here at yahoo!. hack days are about making everyone feel welcome, including women coders and technologists,” yeh said.

incidentally, folks keeping tabs on hack day alerts have pointed out that this was the second year in a row when hack day has offered jiggling entertainment.
