the good news: it was a normal day in sharon springs , ks when a union pacific crew boarded a loaded coal train for the long trek to salina . the bad news: just a few miles into the trip a wheel bearing became overheated and melted, letting a metal support drop down and grind on the rail, creating white hot molten metal droppings spewing down to the rail. the good news: a very alert crew noticed smoke about halfway back in the train and immediately stopped the train in compliance with the rules. the bad news: the train stopped with the hot wheel over a wooden bridge with creosote ties and trusses ................................the photos speak for themselves....
dog craps on the floor, causing the news anchor to gag, then the lady trips on the stairs...here's a great reason why you shouldn't bring a dog onto live news.
i've seen 3-legged cats before, but a 2-legged dog is quite something.
i'm surprised i hadn't seen this before, but then again ... i don't have a tv.
i'd like to send them a similar present.

one day a doctor calls an elderly man and tells him he has some good news and some bad news about his condition.
the doctor says, "i have some good news and bad news for you. the good news is, you have 24 hours to live."
the old man says,"that's the good news?! then what's the bad news?"
the doctor calmly replies,"i was supposed to tell you yesterday."
which would you like to hear first?
an old man visits his doctor and after thorough examination the doctor tells him: "i have good news and bad news, what would you like to hear first?" patient: "well, give me the bad news first." doctor: "you have cancer, i estimate that you have about two years left." patient: "oh no! that's awefull! in two years my life will be over! what kind of good news could you probably tell me, after this??" doctor: "you also have alzheimer's. in about three months you are going to forget everything i told you."

in part of a special series on the secularization of europe, fox news ran this segment trashing the netherlands. the clip uses fox news's frequent method of attributing its judgments to "some observers" and "people." one such quote from about halfway through the segment:
hugo chaves tells fox news what he thinks of them after his un speech.
thunderf00t september 30, 2009 so glenn beck on fox news recently (september 29, 2009) showed a graphic murder. this is the sort of thing that would get a video pulled from youtube almost immediately, but for some reason fox deemed it important enough to put on the glenn beck show.
there's no shortage of serious issues meriting our attention, but there's also this bit of viral video fun: the gregory brothers, the gang that auto-tunes the week's news. n.b. the couric interlude at 2:15. three words: omg.
the doctor took dan into the room and said, "dan, i have some good news and some bad news." dan said, "give me the good news." "they're going to name a disease after you."

with surprise ending!
melbourne, australia – a kangaroo startled by a man walking his dog attacked the pair, pinning the pet underwater and slashing the owner in the abdomen with its hind legs. the australian, chris rickard, was in stable condition monday after the attack, which ended when the 49-year-old elbowed the kangaroo in the throat. he said he was walking his blue heeler, rocky, on sunday morning when they surprised a sleeping kangaroo in arthur's creek northeast of melbourne. the dog chased the animal into a pond, when the kangaroo turned and pinned the pet underwater. when rickard tried to pull his dog free, the kangaroo turned on him, attacking with its hind legs and tearing a deep gash into his abdomen and across his face. "i thought i might take a hit or two dragging the dog out from under his grip, but i didn't expect him to actually attack me," rickard, 49, told the herald sun newspaper. "it was a shock at the start because it was a kangaroo, about 5 feet high, they don't go around killing people." kangaroos rarely attack people but will fight if they feel threatened. dogs often chase kangaroos, which have been known to lead the pets into water and defend themselves there. rickard said he ended the attack by elbowing the kangaroo in the throat, adding rocky was "half-drowned" when he pulled him from the water. source
