some amazing pictures of an atomic blast. the single-use cameras were able to snap a photo one ten-millionth of a second after detonation from about seven miles away, with an exposure time of as little as ten nanoseconds. at that instant, a typical fireball had already reached about 100 feet in diameter, with temperatures three times hotter than the surface of the sun. i don't know if this is a repost or not but i wasn't able to find it on this website.
what seems to be the australian army disposing of explosives by blowing them up.
a complilation of various tests at the lawrence livermore national laboratory of high explosives(http://www.llnl.gov/), used in nuclear weapons. apparently the 1st and 3rd explosives would be able to drop troops in a 500ft radius from ground zero...by "liquidfying the internal organs of combatants!" the 2nd test is sumthing else completely, maybe a fuel/isotopic solid-fuel rocket...very strange these things are not nukes, but some awsome exsplosive incased in some-other exotic isotope, then detonated, creating a 'blizzard' of free neutrons.
good old fashioned bomb-juggling!
marines blowing up confiscated explosives and ammo.
nitrogen triiodide, also called nitrogen iodide, is the chemical compound with the formula ni3. it is a sensitive contact explosive: small quantities explode with a gunpowder-like snap when touched even lightly, releasing a purple cloud of iodine vapor.
wait for it...
"on may 30th, 2006, we reacted to a vbied that was defeated when a very lucky iraqi soldier shot the driver before he could detonate the bomb. when we blew up the explosives, we underestimated the yield and were standing a little closer than we probably should have been." i believe them explosion is at 3 min 16 seconds if you want to fast forward.
