an excerpt from chapter 2 of the god delusion by richard dawkins. professor dawkins discusses the creator of the universe - the flying spaghetti monster (fsm), blessed be his noodly appendages. professor richard dawkins acknowledges that the flying spaghetti monster is "undisprovable" at 3:19....ramen. for some reason he also mentions gods that aren`t real.
bill o`reilly interviews richard dawkins author of the god delusion . i`m not sure whether i`m allowed to upload this here, but i wanted to share. it`s both pleasant and frustrating. bill-o is an idiot who doesn`t give dawkins much chance to answer his idiot arguments, but dawkins shines, none-the-less.

on saturday, march 8th, 2008, richard dawkins gave a lecture on the god delusion during his us tour. the event took place on the uc berkeley campus in wheeler auditorium, and was completely sold out. a line of hopeful attendees stretched around the side of the building, waiting to see if there would be any `no-show` tickets at the last minute! this is the q&a session after the lecture. part 2
dawkins identifies what he views is the single most compelling fact to refute creationism -- but states that the real problem lies in convincing creationists to listen to the evidence. "what they do is simply stick their fingers in their ears and say 'la la la,'" says dawkins. "you cannot argue with a mind like that."
clip from dawkins' 'the blind watchmaker (1987) documentary. prof. dawkins thwarts the watchmaker theory by explaining the creation of the eye as a series of steps through evolution rather than popping into existence randomly.
richard dawkins makes a case for "thinking the improbable" by looking at how our human frame of reference -- the things we can perceive with our five senses, and understand with our eight-pound brain -- limits our understanding of the universe. think of it: we can`t see atoms, we can`t see infrared light, we can`t hear ultrasonic frequencies, but we know without a doubt that they exist. what else is out there that we can`t yet perceive -- what dimensions of space, what aspects of time, what forms of life? dawkins calls the human-size frame of reference "middle world": between the microcosms of atoms and the macrocosms of the universe. middle world thinking limits our ability to see the universe in terms of the improbable, whereas "in the vastness of astronomical space and geological time, that which seems impossible in middle world might turn out to be inevitable."

this is an interview cut from a dawkins documentary. very good stuff. has real debate not muddled by fundamentalist nonesense or dogmatic twaddle. enjoy.

"richard dawkins explains his picks for the seven wonders of the world in this program from 1997." taken from richarddawkins.net. my personal favorite is # 7.
neil tyson is probably one my biggest role models. he talks about promoting science in this clip. i hope to one day have as much influence as he does. now, i dig richard dawkins too, but i take neil's side on this one.
