i recently discovered a cable television talk show from the late 80`s early 90`s called alternative views. they did a lot of reporting about illegal cia activities, governmental & corporate corruption and other issues not widely covered in the mainstream media. they have some really great stories but the shows are an hour long and sometimes it`s hard to absorb all the information at once
in part 2 of author pete brewton`s interview he tells the story of a little washington dc bank called the palmer bank. started by a republican political operative with money provided by a mafia connected financier. they went on to bankroll an number of political campaigns and organizations, funnel money to the contras and was involved with the iran arms deals. while it isn`t really part of the savings & loan involves a lot of the same people.

the lapd, the fbi, & the cia are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. the president decides to give them a test. he releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it. the cia goes in. they place animal informants throughout the forest. they question all plant and mineral witnesses. after three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist. the fbi goes in. after two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit and they make no apologies. the rabbit had it coming. the lapd goes in. they come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. the bear is yelling, "okay, okay, i'm a rabbit, i'm a rabbit!"

san francisco -- the u.s. federal bureau of investigation today warned computer users not to open a widely circulating e-mail that falsely claims to have been sent by u.s. authorities. the e-mail attempts to trick users into installing a variant of the sober worm by telling them that they have been spotted on "illegal web sites," and asking them to click on an attached "list of questions."
"these e-mails did not come from the fbi," the fbi announced in a posted statement. "recipients of this or similar solicitations should know that the fbi does not engage in the practice of sending unsolicited e-mails to the public in this manner."
this latest worm now accounts for more than 65 percent of all malicious software being reported to antivirus vendor sophos, and it constitutes about one in every 74 e-mail messages being sent on the internet, according to graham cluley, a senior technology consultant with sophos. "it's quite a significant event," he said. "i'm not sure that it's necessarily going to last, but at the moment its well ahead of any other virus."
