now i forget what weapon this is (hk51?) but it's really kool. this weapon is normally magazine fed, but there is a modification (dont quote me on that, it might be a conversion) that allows it to be belt fed.
gotta hand it to the jetpack — as crazy and dangerous as the idea of a personal aircraft is, it still manages to captivate people enough to try and make it a reality. first it was skywalker jets with its goofy-looking and questionable flying apparatus; now it's a company called tecnologia aeroespacial mexicana, which is offering a rocket belt. from the looks of it, though, "rocket backpack" would probably have been a better name. according to the website, tam's rocket belt is fully tested and can fly a pilot up to 300 pounds. apparently the u.s. military researched the technology in the 1960s but quickly abandoned it upon realizing the jetpack could only hold enough fuel for 20-second flights, making it impractical for combat. tam picked up the idea a couple of years ago and has brought it to market. that is, if you consider selling them for $250,000 each a market. that's even more than the skywalker model, although your quarter mil gets you flight training, maintenance, and "24/7 expert support." guy answering that phone = easiest job in the world. scifi.com

(ap) - a 23-year-old woman is accused of getting friend to kill her jack russell terrier and skinning the puppy to make a belt out of its hide. krystal lynn lewis and austin michael mullins, 26, were being held friday in the muskogee county jail on $25,000 bail each. they were charged with one felony count of cruelty to animals. "we're talking about a 6- or 7-week-old defenseless puppy," said sheriff's deputy george roberson. "that's pretty heinous and sadistic." a muskogee county judge ordered a mental competency hearing for both defendants. lewis wanted the puppy, named poplin, killed because it was a gift from a female ex-lover with whom she doesn't get along, said muskogee county sheriff's deputy george roberson. roberson said mullins shot the terrier 10 times with a .22-caliber pistol. lewis skinned the animal at her apartment and nailed the hide to a board. source
