moe: "my wife got me to believe in religion." joe: "really?" moe: "yeah. until i married her i didn't believe in hell."
the other day a man asked me why i don’t believe in god. he might as well have asked me why i don’t believe in santa claus, the tooth fairy, or that my friend’s uncle actually did smoke crack with coolio and some mexican kid at lax during the early nineties. they are ridiculous stories that insult any free-thinking intelligent mind they are told to. except for the coolio thing; that very well might be true.all religions are basically the same. some being out there knows more or is more powerful than we are so we should give him our eternal love and devotion. in some cases, even our first born child. this is akin to saying that george bush is our president so we should all listen to his monkey-like plans and follow them without question. it’s not only ridiculous; it’s damn ridiculous. it also sounds very much like a dictatorship.as a free-thinking individual, i just can not believe things on faith alone. i need some sort of physical evidence. something solid i can see, touch, and more than anything, prove. deciding what i believe regarding the origins of the universe is too important of a subject to take someone’s word for it. if you want to believe in some crazy religion, fair enough. all we ask is that you keep it to yourself. keep all the wars, hatred, extreme prejudice, racism, and all your other arcane ideas within the walls of your churches. let the rest of us live in peace. do what you will as long as it doesn’t affect your fellow man. if it happens to spill outside of your front door into the lives of others, it is our right as humans to eradicate you from this planet in the name of all that is peaceful. it has happened throughout history with every other religion that has decided to impose itself on the people. don’t act surprised when history repeats itself.a friend that goes by the name of womp once told me the only intelligent thing i have ever heard on this subject. “if you really want to know if there is a god or not, kill yourself, because that is the only way you are ever going to find out for sure.” womp should be a preacher. a preacher with a gun to be exact. a guy like that might just be able to save the world.
for ij. check out the look at boot 7 secs it sums up rockys determination and apollos shock.

this philosophy has been followed by politicians for centuries.
a. jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and hillary. b. saddam was a good guy when reagan armed him, a bad guy when bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when bush needed a "we can't find bin laden" diversion. c. trade with cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with china and vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony. d. the united states should get out of the united nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing u.n. resolutions against iran. e. a woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation. f. the best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay. g. if condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex. h. a good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money. i. providing health care to all iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all americans is socialism. hmos and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart. j. global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools. k. a president lying about an extra-marital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy. l. government should limit itself to the powers named in the constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the internet. m. the public has a right to know about hillary's cattle trades, but george bush's driving and military records are none of our business. n. being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery. o. what bill clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what bush did in the '60s is irrelevant.

media matters - "summary: on the o'reilly factor, bill o'reilly claimed that "most experts believe the insurgents have been badly hurt" in iraq. o'reilly offered no support for his claim. indeed, a may 31 article in the washington post reported "evidence of a new intensity in the violence in iraq and underlining the security problems facing the country's 10-day-old government," and the brookings institution released a study showing that there were 55 "multiple-fatality bombings" in may 2006, the highest total of any month during the war. various news reports also describe a recent increase in violence in iraq."
