the first-ever video advertisement will be published in a traditional paper magazine in september. the video-in-print ads will appear in select copies of the us show business title entertainment weekly. the slim-line screens - around the size of a mobile phone display - also have rechargeable batteries. the chip technology used to store the video - described as similar to that used in singing greeting cards - is activated when the page is turned. each chip can hold up to 40 minutes of video. the first clips will preview programmes from us tv network cbs and show adverts by the drinks company pepsi. they will appear in 18 september editions of the magazine distributed in los angeles and new york. it's believed the new technology will cost much more than normal print ads. however, bbc correspondent rajesh mirchandani said that in an increasingly competitive market, advertisers have realized that it is more important than ever to create attention for their product. he likened the technology to the daily prophet - a newspaper with moving pictures described in the harry potter books. it is not the first time that publishers have experimented with digital technology in magazines. last year, for example, men's lifestyle magazine esquire published the first using e-ink technology, with a cover that flashed in alternating patterns. e-ink is the technology used in the sony reader and amazon kindle electronic books. americhip, the developer of video-in-print, has also created magazine technology that appeals to various senses, including smell. source

a us man claims the face of jesus appears every morning in the condensation on the side window of his pick-up truck. jim stevens, of jonesbororugh, tennessee, says the face has appeared nearly every morning for the last two weeks. it disappears when the condensation evaporates - but returns the following morning, he told the johnson city press. even rolling the window up and down has not stopped the image from reappearing. mr stevens admits he's not a particularly religious person, but says he has been awed by the experience. he said he had not done anything to or had anything in the isuzu truck to explain the sudden appearance of the image. charter boat captain erik rue, 42, photographed the animal, which is actually an albino, when he began studying it after the mammal first surfaced in lake calcasieu, an inland saltwater estuary, north of the gulf of mexico in southwestern usa. capt rue originally saw the dolphin, which also has reddish eyes, swimming with a pod of four other dolphins, with one appearing to be its mother which never left its side. he said: "i just happened to see a little pod of dolphins, and i noticed one that was a little lighter. "it was absolutely stunningly pink. "i had never seen anything like it. it's the same color throughout the whole body and it looks like it just came out of a paint booth. "the dolphin appears to be healthy and normal other than its coloration, which is quite beautiful and stunningly pink. "the mammal is entirely pink from tip to tail and has reddish eyes indicating its albinism. the skin appears smooth, glossy pink and without flaws. "i have personally spotted the pink dolphin 40 to 50 times in the time since the original sighting as it has apparently taken up residence with its family in the calcasieu ship channel. "as time has passed the young mammal has grown and sometimes ventures away from its mother to feed and play but always remains in the vicinity of the pod. "surprisingly, it does not appear to be drastically affected by the environment or sunlight as might be expected considering its condition, although it tends to remain below the surface a little more than the others in the pod." regina asmutis-silvia, senior biologist with the whale and dolphin conservation society, said: "i have never seen a dolphin coloured in this way in all my career. "it is a truly beautiful dolphin but people should be careful, as with any dolphins, to respect it - observe from a distance, limit their time watching, don't chase or harass it "while this animal looks pink, it is an albino which you can notice in the pink eyes. a man was flying from seattle to san francisco . unexpectedly, the plane was diverted to sacramento along the way. the flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes. everybody got off the plane except one lady who was blind. the man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her seeing eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight. he could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, "kathy, we are in sacramento for almost an hour. would you like to get off and stretch your legs?" the blind lady replied, "no thanks, but maybe my dog would like to stretch his legs." picture this: all the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a seeing eye dog! the pilot was even wearing sunglasses. people scattered. they not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines! true story....
