with the dramatic rise in sexually transmitted diseases among teens in the u.k., a new media advertising company has been given the task of creating a set of new 'hard-hitting' posters and flyers to be distributed around the various clubs/pubs of the south west of britain. personally if i saw this above a urinal i would think twice! these are supposedly being released some time this week to the tabloids, but as i’m the only one in the office i thought it would be nice to leak this scoop to you instead – i hate the press. cheers! emma
a masterton woman told she had contracted a sexually transmitted disease dialed 111 – demanding that police track down and charge the person who had infected her.
but she was not asking police to pursue the man she had sex with – instead she wanted them to find the woman who had given it to him.
sergeant mike sutton said police were "at a loss" to think about what charge could be laid and referred her back to her doctor.
the incident typified the public misunderstanding of what the emergency service was for.
"it's just another example of what we have to deal with through 111 calls."
