'an on-set shot of carrie fisher in her iconic “bikini leia” attire, along with her stunt double, catching some rays during the filming of return of the jedi.'
number 1 draft pick at con's.
after immortalizing the universe's most fearless princess in a gold bikini, actress carrie fisher had trouble with life beyond "star wars." fisher fell into a whirlwind of drug abuse accompanied by a quick-to-start quick-to-end marriage with paul simon. her first attempts to break free from her typecast were of little note, but fisher had a memorable turn as meg ryan's friend in "when harry met sally." however, she found her calling not on-screen but on paper: writing. four successful novels and a spot atop the new york time's best-seller list launched her into a career of comedy-script writing, contributing to movies such "the wedding singer" and "sister act."
ugh, take the toddler out of the picture.
chewbacca's make over.
a woman dressed as princess leia was pulled over for drink driving after she and her husband, dressed as luke skywalker, were too embarrassed to walk home as their star wars characters. leanne and luke dodds were stopped by police after returning from a fancy dress party after their ford mondeo was spotted swerving across the road on april 5. police found the mother-of-two dodds, 28, dressed in white robes with plaited hair, while her husband was wearing robes. when breathalysed she was more than twice over the legal drink driving limit. the pair were stopped on a village road in murton, co durham. mr hodgson said: "she was dressed as princess leia and her husband as luke skywalker and they found it was a bit embarrassing to walk the streets of murton dressed in their costumes. "she didn't intend to have a drink when she went to the party. she should not have been driving and she realises now it was a very bad idea." magistrates banned dodds from driving for 20 months, fined her £255 and ordered her to pay £60 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge. she was also offered a place on the drink drive awareness course. chairman of the bench keith king said: "fancy dress, we've no doubt all been there and done it, and taken precautions out to avoid walking along streets, taken a taxi, but on that night you used your own vehicle." source
