the reverend al sharpton is denying accusations that he tried to blackmail producer, dr. dre. the allegation comes from dre’s former friend bruce williams who recently co authored the book, rollin’ with dre: the unauthorized account. prior to the release of the book, williams was released from him employment with dr. dre.

williams alleges that reverend sharpton demanded that dre intervene in ending the feud between rappers, the game and 50 cent. in addition to mediating the feud, williams alleges that sharpton asked dre pay him $500,000. the two rappers had a very public falling out resulting in game leaving 50’s g-unit group and numerous jabs in interviews and songs between him and the members of g-unit.

sharpton and his representatives in the national action network (nan) vehemently deny the charges and stated "at no point has reverend al sharpton or an authorised representative of national action network met with dr. dre."
