Javier Pedro Saviola, born December 11, 1981, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Winner of the 1999 South American Footballer of the Year, Saviola began his career that same year in Argentina with River Plate. He won the 2001 World Youth Cup with Argentina before moving on to FC Barcelona, and won the UEFA Cup with Sevilla while on loan in 2005-06.
